Summary
Kathy was born in Hamilton Ohio, however she had strong family ties in the Baltimore Maryland area which is where she lived through the 4th grade. In 1966 her family relocated to Georgia. Kathy attended Johnson High School in Gainesville, Ga. and then went on to attend Gainesville College. In 1977 her banking career began with her first job at Standard Federal Savings & Loan in Atlanta. In 1979 she married Bobby Palmer, a Clarkesville native. Once relocating to Clarkesville she was named Branch Manager for Home Federal Savings & Loan, located in downtown Clarkesville. After 15 years with Home Federal, Kathy continued her banking career with Regions Bank in Cleveland for 4 years, Stephens Federal Bank in Toccoa for 8 years and Allied Home Mortgage in Cornelia for 4 years. For the past 30 years she has assisted clients all over North Georgia with commercial, consumer and residential lending needs. Kathy and her husband Bobby have two grown children: a son Blake who resides in Atlanta and a daughter Brooke who resides in Savannah. They are members of the First Presbyterian Church in Clarkesville where Kathy is an ordained elder.
